Component Prefabs allow you to create prefabricated component arrangements. You can combine different components within a prefab and then select that group in the radiosphere Studio editor. Component prefabs have their own attributes that you can access in the editor. They help you to arrange multiple components according to your needs and thus minimize the time needed to create content.
Functionally, component prefabs are almost identical to component templates. Read here what they are. The only difference is that more than one component can be inserted and edited within a prefab.
Important: When a component prefab is changed, the previously inserted preferences are not changed. Changing values in the template does not affect the published content. Content Modules are different. Find out what they are here.
Creating a Component Prefab
To create a component prefab, in radiosphere Studio, click Apps > Prefabs > + Create from the dropdown menu on the left. In the dropdown menu under Base Type, select the base component for your prefab. To create a prefab that contains multiple components, we recommend you select "Container". Enter a title (the type name is automatically created by the system) and confirm your entries with Create.
You will now be taken to the Prefab Editor. This works exactly like the one for templates, posts and pages. Add components and spacings as usual and edit them according to your needs. Once you are satisfied with the configuration, click Save to save your customizations.
Select components prefab
Open the editor of your post or the page where you want to implement your component prefab. Now click on + Add and select the blue marked area where you want to place the prefab. Now a window with all available components will open. Select it and click on Add. Now your prefab will appear in the selected area.
