Here you can read how to create a new channel. Now you just have to make sure that listeners can play your channel. To do this, we provide you with an area on the channel's overview page. In the Playout tab, you can configure the playout of your channel and add links for streaming and track metadata.
Configuring the channel playout
Open the overview page of the desired channel. Now click on the Playout tab. There you will find two areas: Playout Sources and Metadata. Under Playout Sources, enter the sources with the corresponding streaming links so that listeners can also play your channel. In Metadata, you enter the link so that the channel can access all the information about the tracks in the playlist. In many cases, this link is the same as the streaming link.
Adding a playout source
To add a new playout source, click on the blue + Add Source button. A window with the title Add Playout Config will now open. There you have to give your first streaming source a name. In the next step, click on + Add Stream and insert the streaming link in the empty line. Now determine whether it is an MP3 or AAC streaming link by making the appropriate specification under Codec. You can also specify whether this stream is of normal or particularly good quality. Click on the appropriate quality under Quality. Please note that you can only ever add two qualities, i.e. only two different links with either normal or high quality. If you only have one streaming link available, please select Normal under Quality. Click on Save to save the link.
After you have clicked on Save, you will return to the Add Playout Config window. If you have another link with a different codec or quality, you can add it to the same playout source in the same way. To do this, select + Add Stream below the stream you have just created. Click on Save and Close to save your adjustments and close the window.
You can create another playout source with up to two more streaming links if your streaming is still running via another provider. To do this, repeat the steps from before.
Add metadata source
Now you just need to specify a source for the metadata of the tracks in your playlist. To do this, click on the blue + Add Configuration button to the right of Metadata. Now enter a name for the new metadata source and insert the metadata link in the empty line below it. In many cases, this is the same link that you used for the streaming source. Then click Save and Close to save your entries and close the window.
Great, if you have now inserted everything correctly, the new channel should play without any problems and display the appropriate information for all tracks. If this does not work, please contact us via support@radiosphere.com or your streaming provider.
