In the Messaging section, you can define the reason for which you want to send a new push notification. At the same time you define who gets your message, because users can allow or disallow certain messages in the app settings under Permissions. There are two messaging types:
Default
You want to send a push notification about app updates or other technical adjustments.
Important: You should only send default messages if you want to reach users in urgent cases. For example, because there was a security-critical update. In this case, users who have disabled messages in the app but allowed them in the device settings will also receive a push message. In order not to lose this permission (device level), you should really send notifications of this type only in critical cases.
Promotions
With your push notification you want to point out certain promotions like sweepstakes or collaborations or advertise your app.
If a person deactivates news, you can only reach them with default push notifications. If the person activates the checkbox again, they will be reached with Default as well as Promotion Messages.
Make massaging settings for push notifications
Go to the Messaging section and either click on an existing push notification that has not yet been sent. Under Audience, you can select whether your push notification should be sent for promotion purposes (Promotions) or as an indication of technical changes in the app (Default). Of course, you can also change these settings when you create a new push notification.
